Robotics

The FullMetal Falcons, Team 4557, has been competing in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) since 2013, winning multiple New England District awards and recognition at the FIRST World Championships in Detroit in 2018, in which 15,000 students competed.

A sampling of awards won over the years by Xavier:

Entrepreneurship Award: 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020.

District Engineering Inspiration Award: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

District Chairman’s Award: 2018

And now the Xavier robotics brand seemingly is everywhere:

  • In 2018 the FullMetal Kestrels were formed as part of the FIRST Tech Challenge. In 2019 the FullMetal Peregrines also started competing in FIRST Tech Challenge. That is a testament to the growing number of students in the Xavier robotics program.
  • Xavier has a FIRST Lego League (FLL) middle school program that works on building its robots at the school.
  • The program has helped start 16 FLL junior teams for elementary school children. The school’s outreach doesn’t stop at the state line. There is a team in Guatemala, and one on the Mercy Ships around the coast of Africa.
